Moving House with Pets

Pets are incredible,  they know when things are about to change.

Moving house with pets can be simple. If you are moving them yourself ensure they have a suitable container or security when moving.  For the big moves pet handlers can take care of your animals from start to finish. Check with your local vet or local pet sitters for further advice. Personally I believe on the day of the upload the pets should be with a neighbour or friend or if in your budget at a dog or cat kennel away from what is happening.

Dog ready for a house moveFrom personal experience trying to find the cat on the final day was impossible as the cat  decided to abscond because of the the change of routine. Cats can be worse leading up to a house move than maybe dogs.

The main consideration to your pet when moving house is settling in at the new house. Keep them inside until you are happy that the animals are calm. Feed them straight away assuring them that the new environment is not hostile. Use their familiar bowls and animal toys or blankets just to give them familiarity.

Spend some time with them when you are relaxed,  they will soon feel at home.

If snowy can do it so can yours.

Snowy pictured is a veteran of over 12 moves,  the longest over 4000 kms. It is important that you vet check, worm and have the health at a peak for excessive travel or plane flight.

Air Freight your cat, dog, turtle..

Moving house with pets is easy but just like kids try not cutting costs  and your move will have limited stress. Perfect is using a boarding kennel whilst you move or for distance house moving air freight. It usually is good value and most air freight companies are very experienced with pets of all shapes and sizes. Check with local airport or freight companies
